Baby Teeth

What a THRILLER of a book. I’ll be honest, part of the reason that I haven’t updated this blog in so long is that I was in a serious funk in regards to reading. I went from reading over 50 books a year to hardly ANYTHING.

But, Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage brought that love of reading back to me!

Suzette is a young mother with an amazing husband and a seven year old non-verbal little girl. While her life looks perfectly in order, the strife between her daughter and her continues to escalate as the daughter ages. After numerous medical tests, Hannah decides that maybe it’s time to let her mother know exactly how she feels about her and evokes the voice of one of the last witches burned at the stake in France.

Chilling and a complete page turner, you are going to absolutely want to check this book out when it releases next month. I almost stayed up all night because I couldn’t put it down and HAD to find out whether or not Suzette was going to make it out alive.

Bring Me Back

1

Is it Ironic that the first book I’m reviewing after taking a four year hiatus is “Bring Me Back”? Who knows! But, I’m glad to BE back. I’ll give an update on the going ons of my life later . . . but let’s get to the book, shall we?

I received an ARC of this book via a facebook ad for St. Martin’s Press. I jumped at the opportunity because I had recently finished B. A. Paris’ “Behind Closed Doors” novel and absolutely loved it. A COMPLETE page turner.

“Bring Me Back” might not quite be the stay up all night to finish novel that “Behind Closed Doors”, but it was still an interesting read and had it’s own twists and turns that I didn’t see coming.

Finn McQuaid is the unreliable narrator in this suspenseful third novel by B. A. Paris. Ten years ago, his girlfriend Layla went missing after a bathroom stop while on vacation.

He has since fallen in love with her sister, Ellen, and plans to marry. Until little Russian Dolls (figurines that Layla and her sister shared a love for) begin appearing around Finn’s house . . . and both an old neighbor and Ellen herself claim to see Layla around town.

I found myself assuming certain endings or instances and continued to be proved wrong. If you are already a Paris fan, I think you’ll enjoy this short read.
