Wow! We’re over a year out!

And things are going great. Is one of my breasts still slightly smaller than the other . . . yes. But, whatever. Apparently every girl has misshapened boobs.

My scaring looks great. I have been able to really get after it healthy wise and have lost quite a few pounds since my surgery. I feel amazing. I’m able to run, jump, dance, etc with zero problems. I can comfortably wear a strapless bra and sun dress with no problem. I don’t have to buy my shirts three sizes too big anymore. All in all it’s AMAZING.

Over the past year, I’ve gotten a few comments here and there on this blog but have been so busy, I wasn’t able to come back. So please — You are WELCOME to add me on facebook and I would LOVE to chat with you about your upcoming surgeries . . . post surgeries . . . or whatever!

I look forward to hearing from you all!

Day 4 – Out and About

Today was the first day I was more out and about. Besides taking some pain reliever right before going to bed tonight, I was good for the day. I went and picked up a few more sports bras because I needed to wash the surgical one as it got some blood on it. It was extremely weird picking out bras in the “medium” section.

Even now, looking at them, they look like some old training bras or something. I’m excited about all the new bras. But, these sports bras make me feel like a guy. Plus, I just really need to get my stomach under control. I can’t wait to be approved for workouts.

I’ve been eating smaller portions and things like that . . . but the exercise is really going to put it over the edge.

I want to like them. I want to enjoy them. I know it’s going to take time. I just wish I could fast forward a little bit.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes – One Word: Awesome

I’ve seen commercials for this movie for a good while now. I’ve even seen an interview with Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) about his role in the movie and how he is not a very nice guy. (Come on, Tom . . . are you going to play the bad guy always?) But, it wasn’t until my best friend Jessica told me that her boyfriend and her were enthralled by the movie that I mentioned it to Aaron. He said he would like to see it as well and after a class he had to attend to on a Friday left him with the night open . . . we found ourselves getting popcorn and a drink and heading into the theater.

This movie plays kind of  like a prequel to the original movie. In fact, there is a news story that talks about the shuttle to Mars around the middle of the movie. It’s about a man, Will Rodman, (played by James Franco) who is trying to find a cure for alzheimer’s so he can help his father, Charles(John Lithgo). He thinks he has found the cure with Ape #9, until she goes crazy and ends up being killed by a security guard of Gen Sys Industries. It isn’t until the other apes are put down and they are cleaning Ape #9’s cage that they realize she wasn’t crazy because of the drug, but only trying to protect her child. Will ends up taking the baby ape home and realizes that the medication he has devised has been passed to Ape #9’s child.

The story follows the life of Caesar as he grows and loves both Will and Charles (who has now received the medication and appears to be better). Caesar is an exceptionally smart ape that knows sign language and is very protective of his family. Unfortunately, the drug that Will gave his father begins to deteriorate Charles’ brain after roughly five years and after an intense argument with Charles’ rude neighbor, Caesar runs out and tackles the neighbor trying to protect Charles. Animal control forces Will to place Caesar in a primate shelter until he can prove the ape is not harmful to society.

It is Caesar’s captivity that forces him to realize that he is not equal to his human counterparts. While Will spends his time trying to come up with a new cure, Caesar gets more and more angered and agitated by being in captivity. He begins finding ways to let himself out of his cages at night and ultimately forces the other apes to see that he is the Alpha. Once he realizes that there is a new drug available, he sneaks out and steals some from Will’s home. Once he administers the drug to the apes, they begin their plot to escape.

The movie flows nicely and has a great storyline. It is definitely one of the better movies we have seen this summer. It has everything you need in a movie: action, adventure, a slight love story, relationships, comedy, etc. Check it out! I don’t think you’ll be sorry!

Job Opportunities

I was supposed to be a stay at home mom once we moved to Nebraska. That was the deal … we’d be paying less on our house note than we did for an apartment in Houston. We’d only need one car this way. We’d still be able to do what we wanted to do, which is usually nothing but sitting around watching television. It was supposed to work out.

Until we decided that we wanted to go home for Christmas and Liam’s birthday. After examining the ticket prices for both trips, something totally over 1000 and that’s before we make the decision to give Liam his own seat, Aaron says that I need to get a job.

Well, crap.

So, I talked to our realtor, who was supposed to need some work done for her because she was so busy. But, she’s going into  her slow season, so that doesn’t look like it’s going to work. She gave me the name of her brother who works for a fitness club out here, I went in to talk to him about getting a job in the nursery so that I could bring Liam with me to work. I haven’t gotten a call back.

We began interviewing people for baby sitting positions and one of the applicants works for West Corporation. You know, telemarketing? I used to work for them back in Beaumont … for maybe three weeks before I was picked up from work early because my grandmother passed away.

Anyway, I put in an application and am in the process of getting all of my employment information sent in so that I can began training starting September 12th.

I’ll be working from home! In my pajamas! I can actually go to work without a bra on if I want to. I mean, how many people can really say that except strippers or prostitutes. And even they have to start the day in a bra … it’s only until later that a bra becomes optional.

So, here’s hoping that it works out and I get all of the information in on time. I won’t be making very much at all … especially considering the fact that I have a degree. But, whatever. I’ll be making enough to pay for plane tickets when we want to fly home. That’ll be worth it.

In other news … look at this cute face!

Gosh, I love him so much

I Know … I Know … I’m Such a Jerk

Check out my fruit hating son

It’s the Final Countdown

(Did you know that our DJ told me that I was the coolest bride in the world because I had him play that song when we entered the reception hall? That’s right … Eff Kenny G)

Today is Monday.

Monday is today.

That means that in exactly a week from right now … we’ll be homeowners in a little place called Omaha, Nebraska. Every week day, I’ve been calling the banks, calling the relocation companies, calling for utilities, calling for cable (RIP ATT), and basically going out of my mind.

Aaron waits until 9pm to actually talk to me about the things that I need to get done the next day. So, I go through most of the day relishing in the fact that I won’t have much to do the following day except keep our child alive and then 9pm comes around and suddenly my list of “To-Do” grows ten-fold.

Today, I needed to find out from the underwriter how much we’re going to need to bring to close so that we can get a cashier’s check on Thursday before we head out of the great state of Texas. (She doesn’t know yet)
I needed to go to the Post Office and get them to hold our mail and then start sending our mail to our new address starting on Monday. (Apparently you can’t process a hold AND a change of address, what a waste of a trip)
I needed to set up trash for our new house. (The stupid lady that is still in our house apparently hasn’t canceled her service yet, what a waste of a call)
I needed to make a list of things to pack for Liam. (Done!)

So, needless to say I didn’t get much done today.

Tomorrow, we’re having to put every thing that we own to wear in a suitcase for our week and a half long period of time that we might not have our belongings because they are being moved. I say everything that we own to wear … because seriously … I think that I only have a weeks worth of clothes that I wear ever!

Wednesday, the packers are coming to pack up all of the stuff that isn’t in the suitcases that we’re taking with us on our own trip.

Thursday, the movers are coming to load up everything that the packers packed up. Plus, Liam has to get his six month shots. And I have to bring our amazing boxes from ATT back to the UPS store. Omaha doesn’t have AT&T Uverse. Doesn’t that suck?! And then once all of our stuff is packed onto a truck and our brand new house that is only 10 months old is empty … we’ll be on our way to Dallas and then Wichita and then Omaha.

Yikes. It’s really coming quick.

New house here we come ….
